REVIEW: The Chase by Janet Evanovich and Lee Goldberg

I am absolutely in love with this series!!!! I have been a huge Janet Evanovich fan for some time. This series brings together Nick Fox, a sexy con man, and Kate O'Hare, an uptight FBI agent. Kate has spent a long time trying to bust Nick. However, in The Heist, they find themselves on the same side. Now Kate is trying to pretend that she is still on the search for him. According to her fellow FBI agents, Nick Fox is on the lamb and Kate is vigilantly on the look out for him. All the while against Kate's better judgement they are working together under the direction of her bosses. The connection between Nick and Kate is very enticing. I like to see the development of each of them as the stories have continued and how each of them is influencing changes in each other. I am very excited to see what comes next between the two of them.

I am also enamored with the relationship between Kate and her father Jake. The background of the books show that Jake was a loving father as Kate and her sister were growing up, however with his military career he missed out on a lot of their lives. Jake chooses to make up for this to Kate by assisting with her assignments, no questions asked. The dynamic between them is one that any little girl wishes to grow up having with her daddy, even if you aren't out fighting crime. The story also incorporates characters from the first book such as Boyd, the eccentric actor, and Willie, the kinda whorey speed freak. As well as a few new characters as well. I can't wait to see what happens with this crew of somewhat misfits out fighting crime next!
